Gary V. and Martin... As One?

Thanks to my pampam friends, who got their free tickets from facebook, I was able to watch Martin and Gary V. concert yesterday. Their invite was very timely as I was just done with my Skechers Streetdance Event at the same venue - SM Mall of Asia. And how can I refuse? It's free!

Now my review of the concert -

All in all, the concert was a little bit dragging. Most of the songs are ballads and so Frank Sinatra- era. I can't relate to most of them. It made me sleepy most of the time.

But not all of it was a drag, it has its high points also - but it was all thanks to Gary V. His playlist was better than Martin's. With his old hits like Hataw Na, Shout for Joy and Eto Na Naman, it got the audience standing and dancing, who were most of time, was sitting most of the time and looked sleepy. Martin has also some good points for me, but it's not his songs, it was his manner of hosting (is that the right term?) their concert. He was witty and we were laughing most of the time. He's like the Jay Leno of their concert. The best moment of them together was the one where they sang, Take me out of the dark and their performance with their sons. The take me out of the dark performance was very spiritual that Martin even cried at the latter part of the song. Then the one with their sons was really fun watching. Gab was great on drums and Martin's son - whatever his name was, was really great on the guitar. I just realized, Gab was like a splitting image of Gary, even his voice when singing sounded like Gary!

In my opinion, if you're a fan of the two, then this concert is worth the pesos for you. But for me, if I'm going to pay for my ticket, maybe I'll just wait for a Gary V. only concert.
