But the unexpected arrival of Jane’s “secret” husband, Ethan (Devon Gummersall), at her doorstep left her with more questions than ever. To make matters worse, Jane may be disbarred after breaching client-attorney confidentiality when, against the firm’s advisement, she reported her client for fraud. Faced with a new love triangle and the uncertainty of her career, Jane must, once again, chart out a new future for herself…

Meralco Appliance Calculator: my electricity budget buddy

The Meralco Appliance Calculator (M.A.C.) has been a consumer’s electricity budget buddy since 2003. The M.A.C. is designed to be an electricity bill management tool of Meralco residential customers to help them: a) better manage their electric consumption and their electric bill; b) make wiser decisions in buying home appliances, and; c) get home energy efficiency tips that are customized to their home electricity consumption. Any consumer can access the M.A.C. from Meralco’s website: www.meralco.com.ph.

Although the M.A.C. has been around for many years now, new features and enhancements are constantly being introduced to enable it to cater to the growing demands of electricity users. With the new Meralco Appliance Calculator (M.A.C), users can now have the option of using either “My Appliance Calculator” or “My Bill Manager”. “My Appliance Calculator” allows the user to calculate the estimated consumption cost of appliances - one at a time. “My Bill Manager”, on the other hand, allows the user to calculate the estimated consumption cost of appliances in a table format. It allows the user to get an estimate of the household’s total electric consumption cost and see which appliances consume more electricity. Other features of the “My Bill Manager” menu include: consumption manager, energy efficiency adviser and target bill amount estimator. Consumption manager allows the user to see the corresponding electric consumption pie chart and some text description of the chart based on the information provided by the user. The energy efficiency adviser, meanwhile, allows user to see some energy efficiency tips based on the information provided by the user. The target bill amount estimator, on the other hand, allows the user to see an estimate of his “monthly target kWh consumption” and “estimated price per kWh” by just inputting the “target electric bill amount”.

Other new features of the M.A.C include: a) e-mailing of the M.A.C web link to friends through the “email” button; b) sharing the M.A.C web link to Facebook and Twitter accounts through the “share” button; c) sending feedback to Meralco regarding the new M.A.C through the “feedback” button; d) printing the computation results of “My Bill Manager” through the “print” button (for easy access and future reference of the computations), and; e) viewing the basis for computing the estimated electricity consumption of home appliances for the M.A.C application through the “formula” button (so that users can validate the results of the computations).

The M.A.C. is truly a user-friendly, interactive and valuable tool for costconscious electricity consumers. Go give it a try!

Amazing Race Asia: Down To The Final THREE!

It’s the final showdown in the upcoming finale episode of The Amazing Race Asia (TARA) Season 4! Coming head to head will be the youngest team in TARA history versus the first father-and-daughter team versus the super athletic best friends, Richard and Richard! Smelling victory at hand, the teams have upped the game and kept fans teetering on the edge of their seats, as they race neck to neck and check in at stops within minutes of one another!

With the last leg of the race taking place in Singapore, it is the unlikeliest of teams that have made it to the final three that will fight for the first place in TARA 4.

In the only Fast Forward of the race, the Richards sacrificed their lovely locks by shaving their heads, which gave them a significant head start. While their physical fitness placed them at a solid advantage as they led in the top three for seven legs, the Richards hit a spate of bad luck in the last two legs, where they got terribly lost and even broke a race rule that had them backtrack their route and cost them a near-elimination.

As for Michelle and Claire, the girls showed that their youthful age and pint-size builds were anything but a handicap. The best friends beat the other teams with a lot of grit and determination. No one can forget how the feisty duo swallowed 275 chicken balls, out-eating even the men from the other teams! Besides, they managed to trail close behind the Richards with top three rankings in five legs, even after being yielded by the Indian team Dimple and Sunaina!

Despite having a familial bond that is the envy of many, Natasha and Hussein have been cracking under the pressure, which led to constant bickers that saw them end up at the bottom of the pack in several portions of the race. Natasha’s patience was duly tested by her father's antics during the race, especially during his attempt to cheer her on with his whistle blowing during the log sawing session. As the oldest participant this season, Hussein also had some physical limitations in completing some of the tasks, like the high-wire walk in Galle or the trapeze act in Sydney. Not all’s lost though, for in the penultimate leg, the father-daughter team rise to form to take the lead for the first time!

Throughout the race, there have been some pretty extreme challenges presented to the teams, with some that resulted in unexpected outcomes. The underwater dive in Malaysia for example, saw not one or two but five teams failing to complete the task, which resulted in a four-hour penalty for each team. Transportation woes also saw teams arguing, haggling and at times, flirting with pilots to set off early, while others got lost on the roads so much, it almost became a routine. Add in complex dance numbers, eating of exotic food (think crunchy fat grubs with the consistency of jelly!) and death-defying acts and there is no question that this race has become the ride of a lifetime for all teams.

With very little rest and an even tinier time gap among the three teams, will the Richards do Pinoys proud by finally changing TARA history of strong teams not fulfilling their potential (think Marc & Rovilson, Geoff & Tisha), or can underdogs Natasha and Hussein put aside their generational conflicts to emerge as the winner? Or can Michelle and Claire bank on their home advantage and continue to show that age and size matter not in this race around the world?

All will be revealed in the gripping grand finale of The Amazing Race Asia Season 4 on AXN, 9 December at 8PM (JKT)/ 9PM (SG, MY, PH)/ 10PM (HK)!

Cee Lo Green's "The Lady Killer"

I finally got hold of Cee Lo Green's new album "The Lady Killer."

And all I can say is... Perfection. He's really in for the kill.

In an era where auto-tune music rules, Cee Lo Green's album, with its real, bad-ass lyrics, funky tunes and a true voice that auto-tuners want to achieve, this is a great masterpiece.

I mean, who can sing a song entitled "F**k You" and still be great? Only Cee Lo can do that..

This album reminds me of the Soul Music Era - where music is a combination of lyrics written like it's a man's confession of love, dedication, anger and frustration but set in a funky melody. Listening to this album made me emotional and at the same time made me want to stand on top of an old school diner table and dance.

My fave cuts aside from the infamous "F**k you"?

  • Wildflower
  • Bodies
  • Cry Baby
  • Fool For You
  • It's Ok
  • Old Fashioned
  • Scarlet Fever

Zombie TV flick

Addicted to Zombie flicks? Then I think you're in for a treat!

Fox International Channels, the channel behind award-winning and famous shows like Glee (my fave), Family Guy (another fave!), Criminal Minds (again, my fave!), is set to premiere another show which I think will be another TV hit especially among George Romero movie fans, THE WALKING DEAD.

Waking up in an empty hospital after weeks in a coma, County Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) finds himself utterly alone. The world as he knows it is gone, ravaged by a zombie epidemic. The Walking Dead tells the story of the weeks and months that follow after the apocalypse. Based on Robert Kirkman’s hugely successful and popular comic book series, AMC’s new original series, The Walking Dead, premieres with a 90-minute episode on Halloween night: Oct. 31 at 10/9c. Written and executive produced by three-time Academy® Award-nominee Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile), who also directs the pilot, and executive produced by Gale Anne Hurd (The Terminator, Aliens), the series debuts during AMC Fearfest, the network's annual blockbuster marathon of thriller and horror films.

The Walking Dead is an epic, edge-of-your-seat drama where personal struggles are magnified against a backdrop of moment-to-moment survival. A survivalist story at its core, the series explores how the living are changed by the overwhelming realization that those who survive can be far more dangerous that the mindless walkers roaming the earth. They themselves have become the walking dead.

The Walking Dead will premiere this November on Fox.

Several years later, Carter's published memoir, The 16th Round, inspired a Brooklyn teenager (Shannon) and three Canadian activists (Deborah Unger, John Hannah, Liev Schreiber), who believed in the truth, join forces with Carter to prove his innocence. Their extraordinary efforts, commitment and love ultimately secured his release, leaving "Hurricane" to sum up his 20 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit by simply stating, "Hate got me into this place, love got me out".

SM Cinema presents: The Sorcerer's Apprentice

“I love the world of magic, and to be able to bring that to a contemporary audience through `The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ was really appealing to me,” says Jerry Bruckheimer, legendary producer of such blockbuster franchises as “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “National Treasure.”

“I’ve always liked stories that have a magical element, and this film is one of the great magical stories of all time,” he adds. “We thought it would be tremendously exciting to develop the core of that concept into a brand-new story set in the modern world.”

From Walt Disney Studios, Bruckheimer and director Jon Turteltaub comes “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”—an innovative and epic adventure about a sorcerer and his hapless apprentice who are swept into the center of an ancient conflict between good and evil.

In the film, Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Balthazar can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners pit their powers against those of the fiercest—and most ruthless—practitioners of all time. It’ll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes `the sorcerer’s apprentice.’

Set in modern-day Manhattan, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” might have some New Yorkers looking over their shoulders. “The idea is that sorcerers and the ancient art of sorcery are alive and well in present day New York City,” says Turteltaub. “It’s much more entertaining to show audiences the magic in things they recognize than to create something.” Indeed, the filmmakers transformed New York into a vortex of science and magic, home to battling sorcerers and playground for their powers.

While the film isn’t a remake of the classic Disney piece from “Fantasia,” “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” pays proper homage to it, a fact that didn’t escape the director. “’The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ has such a great Disney pedigree to it,” says Turteltaub, “and I knew right away that I’d be dealing with something that had to be excellent, had to be special, had to live up to its important role within Disney and the history of film. That piece from ‘Fantasia’ is as iconic as any eight minutes of film that has ever been created, so to be part of that was really exciting. You think, ‘all right, where do you go with that’—and that’s where all the creativity starts jumping.”

This new sorcerer and his apprentice are a far cry from Mickey and the blue hat. The live-action film is a contemporary take on the ancient art of sorcery, exploring good versus evil in a city where magic is abound in plain sight. “It’s a story about two quests,” explains Bruckheimer. “Balthazar has been searching the world through the centuries for his apprentice, and Dave then has to discover his true potential as a human being.

Dave is a very serious student, and doesn’t need or want Balthazar in his life, or to be a sorcerer. If someone showed up at your door, and said that you’re really a sorcerer, you wouldn’t believe them either. But Balthazar is like a fly that keeps buzzing around, tormenting this poor kid until he succumbs to becoming this magical character, which I think every kid would want to be.”

Opening in SM Cinemas nationwide on Thursday, July 15, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International.

Random thoughts on Twilight Saga: Eclipse

I attended a midnight screening of Twilight Saga: Eclipse yesterday.

The constant bickering between Jacob (Taylor Lautner) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) made me laugh.

Daddy Swan (Billy Burke) & Jessica (Anna Kendrick) were still the best, hope they had more screen time.

Thought the Jasper and Alice fight practice scene was sexy. Jasper's hot despite his longer blond locks.

The fight vs. Victoria and the proposal scene wasn't as exciting as it was in the book.

A lot of picturesque scenes.

But still, the movie never got better. I am still frustrated with the acting of the 3 leads.

More about this on my next post.

American remake of Let the Right one In: Let me in

I haven't even watched this movie, and it already had an American remake?

Chloe Moretz as Eli
Credit: www.cinematical.com

Let the Right One In, a multi-awarded foreign film about a kid who befriends and soon fell in love with his next door girl neighbor/vampire Eli, is getting an American remake, entitled "Let Me In," starring Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass) as Eli. The remake is slated for release this October. Waaah! I need to watch the original film first!

Plot outline:
An alienated 12-year-old boy befriends a mysterious young newcomer to his small New Mexico town, and discovers an unconventional path to adulthood in Let Me In, a haunting and provocative thriller written and directed by filmmaker Matt Reeves (Cloverfield).

Twelve-year old Owen (Kodi Smit-McPhee) is viciously bullied by his classmates and neglected by his divorcing parents. Achingly lonely, Owen spends his days plotting revenge on his middle school tormentors and his evenings spying on the other inhabitants of his apartment complex. His only friend is his new neighbor Abby (Chloe Moretz), an eerily self-possessed young girl who lives next door with her silent father (Oscar®nominee Richard Jenkins). A frail, troubled child about Owens’s age, Abby emerges from her heavily curtained apartment only at night and always barefoot, seemingly immune to the bitter winter elements. Recognizing a fellow outcast, Owen opens up to her and before long, the two have formed a unique bond.

When a string of grisly murders puts the town on high alert, Abby’s father disappears, and the terrified girl is left to fend for herself. Still, she repeatedly rebuffs Owen’s efforts to help her and her increasingly bizarre behavior leads the imaginative Owen to suspect she’s hiding an unthinkable secret.

The gifted cast of Let Me In takes audiences straight to the troubled heart of adolescent longing and loneliness in an astonishing coming-of-age story based on the best-selling Swedish novel Lat den Ratte Komma In (Let the Right One In) by John Ajvide Lindqvist, and the highly-acclaimed film of the same name.

My thoughts on Sex and the City 2, Prince of Persia and Killers

I know these films have opened weeks ago, but forgive me if it took me forever before I can watch them. While the whole country celebrates Independence Day, I spent my whole afternoon watching three films in SM Cinema - Sex and the City 2, Prince of Persia and Killers.

Now my thoughts:

Sex and the City 2

Sex and the City 2 follows after Carrie Bradshaw's marriage with Mr. Big. in SATC 2, she's now dealing with her struggles to deal with issues of living with his husband and completing her new book about New York women settling down. Carrie is known for being the "it single girl" of New York, so despite her love for Mr. Big, she still finds it difficult adjusting to the married life. And then when Samantha got invited to visit Abu Dhabi for a possible PR business client, she and the gang went on a luxurious vacation and there found lots of sand, new experiences, new learnings and of course, men and sex.

What I love about this television-series-turned-to-movie is that it dealt with a lot of issues about women, aging and fashion. Any woman can relate to any of the four characters. And these are not just common issues, but also the challenges women faces whenever she advances to a new stage in her life. And it is a surprise that of all places that they've picked for a location shoot, they picked Abu Dhabi, a country that is quickly progressing but still retains sex as a taboo subject and women are still not at par with men in terms of their role in the society. A country whose values are so different from the four women of New York, especially Samantha's.

And of course, nobody can complain about the clothes and the shoes. They are all beautiful. Sigh.

Prince of Persia

Prince of Persia is based on a popular video game of the same title. It stars a buffed Jake Gyllenhal dressed in an ancient, slightly dirty and yet sexy army costume jumping from building to building and got himself involved in brawls and sword fights with black hooded, weird-looking people.

Despite the fast-paced action, I find the film quite dragging. It took me just minutes to predict what will happen in the movie. But if you're a fan of the game, then this film is a treat for you.

In Killers, Katherine Heigl, a common and unadventurous woman who is just fresh from a breakup, flies to France with her parents for a vacation. There she met Ashton Kutcher, an assassin disguised as a tourist. And after that, (of course) they went into a date, fell in love, and got married. With marriage as his priority, Ashton left his assassin job and lived in a suburban village with his wife, who still don't know his true identity. One year later, after getting an invitation from his formal boss, his life was put into jeopardy as people around him tries to kill him and his wife. And the ruckus begins.

Killers is a Mr. and Mrs. Smith gone all wrong. I can't say more about this movie. Though Katherine's parents in this movie are so funny. And Mr. Ashton Kutcher is so ripped in this movie. Gotta envy Demi Moore. Yum.

Thoughts on Eclipse soundtrack

I've finally heard the songs included in the Twilight Eclipse Soundtrack.

With Alexandra Patsavas still in charge of compiling the OST, expect a lot of indie but great talents coming on board to lend a song to the album. She was able to mix both new and mainstream talents, thus making it a good listening experience not only to Twilight fans, but to music lovers as well.

Compared to the previous soundtrack, New Moon, songs in this album are more upbeat, but with a couple of songs giving you a "mood for love" feel. I love Cee Lo Green, The Battles, Fanfarlo, The Bravery, The Black Keys and the Bombay Bicycle Club. The lyrics were heavy and yet the music is positive and upbeat.

There are also ballad songs in the album which I think will be used to Edward and Bella's cuddle scenes, and my ultimate fave is Sia's My Love. It's so ethereal, listening to the song made me feel like floating. Beck & Bat for lashes' Let's get lost is so suave to my ears.

What I liked about the Twilight albums is that it can stand on its own with its compilation of great talents and songs. It's not only a great relaxing companion, but a learning experience as well for it reorients our taste in music, opening our ears to new sounds and talents out there.

SM Super Chefs: A Flavor Cook-Off at SM Hypermarket

Filipinos are foodies at heart. Indeed, our love for food permeates the very fabric of our society – and more often than not, it is part of the glue that binds Filipino families together. This is shown when we invite people into our homes, or when we watch our mothers and aunts plan entire events around menus. Entire books have even been written about how much of our history is reflected in our favorite dishes.

Chef Deejay Santos shares his Adobo recipe

Chef Pau Sia shares his Menudo recipe

As a living testament to our country’s past cultural influences, our meals are a merry mix of Chinese, Spanish, and Western influences. Classic Filipino favorites such as Adobo, Menudo, and Kaldereta all draw inspiration, in one way or another, from our colorful past – yet the amalgamation of flavors which never fails to whet our appetites is unmistakably Filipino. Thus, every Filipino household has a favorite version of Adobo, Kaldereta and Menudo, with flavors ranging from sweet to salty and a mix of other ingredients such as green peas, tomatoes, and carrots, all of which make the dishes more enticing to the Filipino palate.

Luxury made affordable by SM Hypermarket
However, in as much as Filipinos love their food, the availability of fresh quality ingredients, coupled with escalating costs, make the preparation process quite frustrating. Surely, fresh beef and pork for Kaldereta, Menudo, and Adobo are non-negotiable staples much like quality collateral ingredients such as fresh potatoes or carrots. Apart from freshness, the ingredients should not only be luxurious in taste but should also be easy on the pocket.

Luckily, SM Hypermarket, one of the largest supermarket chains in the country, has taken it upon itself to make quality ingredients easily available to every Filipino, making it easier for homemakers as well as food establishments to bring genuinely delicious food to Filipinos everywhere. “If there’s anything a good cook knows, it’s that the best ingredients make for the best dishes. So in order to make these mouthwatering delicacies, the average cook has to find and purchase these ingredients at a reasonable price,” says Frances Crisol, SM Hypermarket's Senior Manager for Marketing Communications. “As such, at SM Hypermarket, we’ve made luxury affordable to our shoppers in order for more families to enjoy good food.”

Not your typical ‘talipapa’
“We’ve taken the beloved Filipino wet market and gave it a modern twist, but we don't sacrifice anything for the convenience of shopping in a clean, air-conditioned environment – both the quality of the goods and their affordability are the same as the ones found in your local wet markets. What’s more, we have quite a selection of products you can choose from. Aside from everyday ingredients, we also carry hard to find items such as fresh herbs and imported vegetables.”

In true wet market tradition, SM Hypermarket branches also offer “takal-takal” products, allowing shoppers to buy at preferred quantities and prices. If it’s large quantities a shopper needs, though, the store also offers Big Packs – bulk products such as meats, sauces and condiments at a very affordable price.

A revolutionary competition
Not content with just revolutionizing the way Filipinos shop, SM Hypermarket wants to invigorate the Filipino’s love for Pinoy food, as well.

In 2004, SM Hypermarket introduced SM Super Chefs, which began as a cooking demo featuring some of the nation’s best known celebrity chefs from whom shoppers picked up cooking tips on how to use the vast variety of the fresh ingredients available in SM Hypermarket. In 2009, the concept further evolved into a customer cook-off, where selected participants were able to shop for their quality ingredients at SM Hypermarket and cook them right there in a contest that challenged their creativity and their culinary skills.

This year, SM Super Chefs undergoes an ultimate makeover to make it even bigger, better, and more exciting! The competition will feature more challenging tests of the contestants’ culinary talents. Open to all cooking enthusiasts, from housewives to hobbyists to professional chefs, the competition will be held in several stages, with the elimination and final rounds being televised over the Asian Food Channel starting July 22, 2010 at 6:30 pm.

To participate, interested cooks only need to purchase P500 worth of groceries at SM Hypermarket, either single or accumulated purchase, that includes any product of the contest sponsors – Unilever Foodsolutions, Nestle, San Remo, Purefoods, Selecta, Kraft Miracle Whip, Cheez Whiz, Eden Cheese, Mccormick, Lee Kum Kee, Kikkoman soy sauce, Clara Olé, and San Miguel Foods.

Chefs Pau Sia, Deejay Santos and Tristan Encarnacion

Each participant will then be required to undergo a cooking audition per branch starting on June 15, 2010. The audition will require them to prepare one of the three favorite Filipino dishes – Adobo, Caldereta, and Menudo, and bring them to any of the 20 SM Hypermarket branch on specified dates.

There will be three winners of the audition chosen for each branch. These winners will then face off in live cooking challenges against the winners from other branches until only 12 participants remain. These twelve finalists will then compete in four more rounds.

The show will be hosted by celebrity chef Tristan Encarnacion, and will have the remaining cooks strive to please the discriminating palates of the panel of judges – restaurateur and chef Rolando Laudico, culinary school proprietor chef Reggie Aspiras, and broadcaster and food enthusiast Winnie Cordero.

The cook who bests all his or her competitors and claims the title of SM Super Chef will take home a P100,00 dream kitchen showcase, and go on a four-day all-expense-paid trip to Singapore for a culinary training.

Glee goes funky and sneak peek on season finale episode

Can't believe it.. Time really goes fast. This week's Glee episode is the second to the last episode of the season. They're going to say "Bye bye for now" on June 9. Huhuhu... Enough moping, let's recap what happened.

  • Jessie St. James has returned to Vocal Adrenaline. They snuck in New Direction's auditorium and sang a song number to intimidate them. As part of their dirty tactics, they trashed their rehearsal room and Jessie broke up with Rachel, hoping this will spoil their chances at regionals.
  • To get revenge, Puck and Finn destroyed Vocal Adrenaline's tires but was caught. Finn told the principal that they'll pay the damages by working part time.
  • Infuriated by Sue, Will decided to get revenge by seducing her then break her heart after. He regretted doing that so he asked for an apology for he did.
  • Depressed and newly divorced Will went to Sam to seek help. Will can't find a way to inspire his glee club after what Vocal Adrenaline did to them. Sam told him that there's weakness, Vocal Adrenaline can't do a Funk number. So he assigned the club to research for funky songs to perform.
  • Jessie called Rachel and asked if they can meet at the parking lot. Rachel went to meet with him, but she later found out that it was a setup. Vocal Adrenaline, including Jessie threw eggs at her.
  • After hearing Rachel's story, Puck and the rest were so angry and wants to get revenge. Will stopped them saying violence isn't the answer. So instead, he borrowed Rachel's phone to call Jessie and told him to gather all the Vocal Adrenaline and meet them at New Directions' auditorium.
  • And now it's New Directions turn to do a number to intimidate the Vocal Adrenaline and sang "Give up the funk" by Parliament. After the number, Jessie and his team were worried because they knew that funk is the only genre that they cannot perform because they're "soulless automatons."
So love the ending! I love Puck's last line, "See you punks at regionals." So cold and ruthless, just the way I like it. Back at you Jessie! Hahaha!

And this is it! The preview of Glee's season finale episode! Can't wait!

Wait there's more! A season finale sneak peek!

SM Hypermarket opens 20th Branch in North Harbour, Manila

An all new experience with a touch of the familiar is happening this side of the metropolis. SM Hypermarket North Harbour is now open, revitalizing shopping in the world’s most densely populated area.

SM Hypermarket North Harbour will be serving approximately a million consumers in the bustling neighborhood of Manila, Navotas and Caloocan, providing them with a holistic shopping experience where most shopping needs are satisfied all in one go.

More choices of goods and services

Consumers are given more choices with a variety of merchandise and other convenient services which are distinctly SM.

SM Hypermarket North Harbour has its own ‘modern wet market’ with its Fresh section where the same variety of selection in a wet market is offered but with more shopping conveniences – air-conditioned place, clean aisles and precise weighing scales.

Shoppers can also find toys, apparel, appliances, home furniture, and techie gadgets. Moreover, for medicines, home repair, or money transfer, they can go to Watson’s, Ace Hardware, or Western Union.

Consumers can also settle bills, exchange foreign money, and even take home roast chicken from the Rotisserie nook and fresh bread from the bakery stand.

They are also given novel alternatives through the affordable house brand SM Bonus, with over one thousand items to choose from, and the takal-takal section which enables consumers to pick the ingredients they want at preferred and affordable quantities.

Moreover, caterers and carinderia owners can get their supplies of meats, sauces, condiments and other ingredients found in the Big Packs area at very affordable prices.

For sure, consumers will get what they deserve at SM Hypermarket North Harbour – excellent customer service at all times. They will also experience luxury of space and a wide array of choices which are both essential to delivering shopping convenience.

Employment for locals, community outreach

When SM Hypermarket North Harbour opened, employment opportunities for the community were created. Local talents were tapped to build their career in SM – one of the biggest conglomerates in the Philippines.

Also, SM Hypermarket gives small and medium enterprises (SMEs) a chance to showcase their products during the weekend bazaar as it allocates a certain area for SMEs to display and sell their products.

In effect, SM Hypermarket is now a community concept, reaching out to nearby barangays through various events and programs such as cooking demonstrations, songfests, and dance contests. This year, SM Hypermarket will be turned into a community store, not just a place to shop, but a place that shoppers can call home.

This transformation happens as SM Hypermarket invests in people and business partners by providing jobs for the locals and business opportunities for SMEs in the community.

More in store for consumers

SM Hypermarket North Harbour is the 20th branch of SM Hypermarket in Metro Manila and nearby provinces like Rizal, Cavite, Pampanga, and Pangasinan. More stores will be opened this year to bring the SM shopping experience closer to more Filipinos nationwide.

Since it started operations in 2001, SM Hypermarket has been successful in creating the convenience of having a first-rate indoor wet market and a food and general merchandise store. It also continually introduces new concepts to enhance and reinvigorate the consumers’ shopping experience.
