Hush Hush Sequel: Crescendo, and Fallen Sequel: Torment updates

If you read Becca Fitzpatrick's book Hush Hush and constantly follows her site, then you should have known that there is a sequel to this book, entitled Crescendo.

Crescendo, which according to the author's blog site, will be released on November 16, 2010, follows the life of Nora Grey as her relationship with Patch progresses despite learning his secret. Here's the synopsis according to its official site. The layout the Crescendo book cover will be released on April 10, 2010.

Nora should have known her life was far from perfect. Despite starting a relationship with her guardian angel, Patch (who, title aside, can be described as anything but angelic), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking up. Patch is starting to pull away and Nora can't figure out if it's for her best interest or if his interest has shifted to her arch-enemy, Marcie Millar. Not to mention that Nora is haunted by images of her father and she becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened to him that night he left for Portland and never came home.
The further Nora delves into the mystery of her father's death, the more she comes to question if her Nephilim bloodline has something to do with it as well as why she seems to be in danger more than the average girl. Since Patch isn't answering her questions and seems to be standing in her way, she has to start finding the answers on her own. Relying too heavily on the fact that she has a guardian angel puts Nora at risk again and again. But can she really count on Patch or is he hiding secrets darker than she can even imagine?

On the other hand, Fallen by Lauren Kate, which is another teen book best seller, is also working on the sequel of her fallen book, Torment. By the way, her fallen books will be made into 4 movies. So that's it people, there will be 4 books in the Fallen series.

Unlike Becca, Lauren Kate, has released the official cover of Torment. But no news yet on the book's synopsis, but I think we can expect a lot more on Luce's and Daniel's relationship.

Robin Thicke please...

After the Timbaland concert with Justin Timberlake and Jojo, I really hoped that on his next album tour, Justin Timberlake will include Manila in his tour. But while he's still busy with his project with Cameron Diaz, promoting his artists like Matt Morris and Esme Denters, that he hasn't found his inspiration yet for his next album, then I hope this another R&B crooner should come to the Philippines for a concert.

Robin Thicke.

Please please please!

Hello concert producers!!!

Can you get this guy?!?! Please!

Burton to remake The Addams Family

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Tim Burton, the director of box office hit Alice in Wonderland, will remake The Addams Family based from the original Charles Addams cartoons.

Source: forbiddenplanet.co.uk

Chris Melendandri of Illumination Entertainment has acquired the underlying rights of the drawings, once a staple of The New Yorker magazine. They don't have a writer yet, but it was said that the remake won't be nrelated to Addam's previous works, the cartoons, nor the previous adaptations of it in film and in broadway.

And also, the story won't be a live action movie, instead Tim Burton plans it to be a stop-motion animation 3D. But the project is still on hold yet since the production people, including Burton, are still busy producing other movie projects in the pipeline.

OH!Some OH!Range Chicken from Chowking.. So OH!Wow and so OH!Right

I don't know if it's just me or it's the weather that causes to me to be picky when it comes to food. These past weeks, my eating mood changes drastically and most of the time I find some foods too heavy or kinda bland for my tastebuds. I really think it's the weather... (Hehe!) So these past days, the kind of foods that tickles my buds are those that has some kind of tangy flavor.

But of course these kind of foods needs longer preparation and I admit, I'm not that good of a cook to make myself these kind of foods that I'm craving for. So where does that lands me? Fried food or fast food. I love fried foods, especially chicken, but sometimes I get tired of eating them since there's nothing new to their taste. But these geniuses at Chowking developed a new twist to my fried chicken...

It's called OH!Some OH!Range Chicken. It's still my favorite crispy fried chicken chunks with a tangy, amber-colored glaze and real mandarin orange bits. And what made it even more exciting to our palates is its latest hunk endorser Jericho Rosales and his OH!some OH!range dance moves.

Surprisingly for me, the food tastes great! And what's best about it is that you can get this meal at an affordable price. So there's no need for you to have second thoughts on whether you'll try it out or not since the price won't burn your pockets.

The dish starts at P69 for the Rice Chow Meal with a generous portion of Orange Chicken and rice;

P99 for the Lauriat which includes crispy noodles, Chicharap and Buchi;

and P125 for the Salo-Salo Set ideal for sharing. It is also available via delivery. Just call 9-8888, and after 30-45 minutes, your OH!Range Chicken is already at your doorsteps!

Another reason to be excited for this latest addition in Chowking's menu is the fact that this new meal marks Chowking's 25th year in foodservice industry. Imagine, 25 years of serving a fusion of Filipino and Oriental foods not only to its Philippine customers but also to United States, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, and Middle East.

A round of applause for Chowking!

Michel Gondry and Bjork teams up for a 3D musical

I'm looking forward to seeing this.

Variety reports that known director Michel Gondry will team up with eclectic singer Bjork to work on a special musical which will be shown in 3D.

In an interview, Gondry said that this movie is "a very ambitious project, a sort of scientific musical." He describes it as "a 40-minute IMAX project in 3D."

Gondry is know for his artistically-made music videos for the White Stripes, Bjork, The Chemical Brothers, Kylie Minogue and Daft Punk. He also directed The Science of Sleep, Be Kind Rewind and Eternal Sunshine of Spotless Mind.

Here's a sample of his work and one of my faves:

Star Cinema and Viva Films' "Babe I Love You"

They may not be together in real life, but there's still a chance for their fans to see them together, at least on screen.

In this later summer offering of Star Cinema and Viva Films, "Babe I Love You," former off-screen sweethearts Sam Milby and Anne Curtis will star as Nico and Sasa, two people from opposite worlds who, because of a certain accident met and got their lives entangled with each other. And these circumstances affected their impression of one another and that's when love starts to crawl in. But of course, due to their differences and life backgrounds, these "poles-apart-differences" started to present themselves to their relationship, making them doubt if this relationship is really for keeps.

The two stars admits that their characters are not really hard for them to portray since in real life, the two of them are most of the time, in a love-hate relationship, something that their on-screen roles also shares in the story.

Bringing the story altogether in the big screen is Mae Cruz, in her first directorial debut. Director Mae Cruz is a true Star Cinema baby, she used to work as a production assistant, before working her way up to being a director.

Babe I Love You will be shown in cinemas on April 3, 2010.

These cream puffs really made me happy...

If cream puff has a facebook page, I'll be a fan. When Dulcinea still has a place in Robinsons Galleria, I used to buy cream puffs and eclairs during lunch breaks or whenever I feel down. Eating cream puffs always makes me happy. Actually, I don't care if the cream puffs were Dulcinea's or Beard Papas' or wherever, I just love to eat them! =)

So since I was at the Makati area a while ago, I decided to pay a visit to a special cream puff store located along Malugay St.

The Happy Cream Puff store is like a Mecca for cream puff lovers like me. Their cream puffs comes in different flavors and sizes. But since I'm a simple cream-puff-and-eclair type of person, I just bought the two flavors, but I bet the others are also great tasting because they all look yummy!

What's great about their puffs is that they aren't too sweet. And because of that, you won't get "umay" when you're eating the whole box. And when I'm feeling extra sad or stressed, I'll pair them with coffee or hot choco, while watching a movie at home or just reading a book... Yum...

There are two Happy Cream Puff stores in Makati area. One at Malugay St., and the other one is located at Legaspi Village. For Makati people, they won't charge you for delivery, but your order must be worth P300 or higher.

Actually, while I'm doing this post, I'm eating their cream puffs! They really made me happy... *sigh

Eclipse sneak peek from New Moon DVD

If you are not yet contented after watching the Eclipse trailer, then here's another treat from you. A 2-minute sneak peek of the making of Eclipse, a feature from the New Moon DVD.

Pacquiao vs. Clottey fight

I'm not a boxing expert..

But I gotta say,

This fight has got to be the most boring Pacquiao fight I've ever watched!

Regardless, my congratulations to Manny Pacquiao.

HERE IT IS! 10-sec Eclipse trailer

Fresh from the oven folks!

Here's the 10-second Eclipse teaser!

A parent will do anything for the love of their kids..

I'm not yet a parent, but I believe that this is really true. And it is best exemplified in the movie Extraordinary Measures, starring Brendan Fraser and Harrison Ford.

The movie is based on the true story of John Crowley and his family. John Crowley (Fraser) is a corporate executive who later resigned on his job to find a particular scientist, Dr. Stonehill (Ford) to help him develop a cure for his two kids who are suffering from Pompe and are at the brink of death.

Pompe is a form of genetic disorder  that causes the heart and muscles to weaken as you get older. I find the movie drama-heavy as I watch Fraser's struggle to maintain a working relationship with Ford, and at the same time, make progress in developing the cure amidst all the pressures given by the investors. Unfortunately, this is reality. Despite having a brilliant and workable business plan, it won't attain success that fast because there are a lot of corporate barriers that you have to surpass and a lot of people that you have to satisfy. After all, it is still a business. But aside from showing us the reality, it also presented us different faces of miracle - not the typical miracle that we see in movies wherein a white light from the ceiling appears, then the patient is suddenly cured, not that one, but the miracle of surviving death, the miracle of making something that many thought was impossible and the miracle of realizing what you can do - the possibility of surpassing your own capabilities, e.g. producing a hundred million dollars, all for the love of a parent to his children. And if I may just add, great acting from both guys. So if you're into movies about inspiration and miracles, then this is the movie for you.

Thanks to Sharon Yu and SM Cinemas for the screening invite. Extraordinary Measures is now showing in cinemas.

Watch out for this Eclipse teaser online!

Special dinner at Punta Fuego feat. Special Spanish Arzuaga Wines

One of the perks of working in a publicity company is the chance to be part of exclusive events. I got a chance to work for the Arzuaga Dinner event at Landco Pacific's Punta Fuego. What's so special about the Arzuaga Dinner? Arzuaga Winemaker, Ignacio Arzuaga was in the Philippines to host a special dinner and introduce his highly-acclaimed wines from his Bodegas de Arzuaga collection. Mr. Arzuaga is famous not only for his wines, but his family has contributed to the tourism industry of Spain because of his special wine hotel.

According to his spokesperson, some his wine fans include David and Victoria Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and Julia Roberts. Talk about A-list celebrities. A-list wine = A-list celebrities.
