New host of the Emmys, Transformers and X-Men movie updates

NBC confirmed that Late Night Host and ex-SNL Jimmy Fallon will host the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards which will air on August 29 8 p.m. ET -- and at 5 p.m. PT.

McDreamy to join Transformers


Patrick Dempsey, the McDreamy actor in Grey's Anatomy TV series, has told reporters that he will be joining Shia LeBouf and Megan Fox on the third installment of Transformers. The franchise, still directed by Michael Bay, will be shown in theaters on July 1, 2011.

X-Men prequel a 'Go'


Twentieth Century Fox, the studio behind the X-Men franchise, has announced that the X-Men prequel, X-Men: First Class will be released on June 3, 2011 and Matthew Vaughn will direct the film.

According to Variety, "First Class chronicles the beginning of the X-Men saga, before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto and when they were discovering their powers for the first time. Close friends then, the two men worked with other mutants (some familiar, some new) to stop a global threat. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men."
